The Surf Classic closed it out: won 4‑3, won 2‑0, then a 1‑1 draw Sunday morning. No losses in the last two tournaments. League play starts September 12 at home.
Carlsbad Cup, July 17-19. Four wins, 13 goals, six scorers, and a 2‑0 shutout in the final. The second trophy of the 2026 year.
The final of the Costa Mesa Classic in May. The Strikers played up a year and beat Costa Mesa’s U12 team for the first trophy of the 2026 season.
At the Mission Viejo Classic we entered the U12 bracket. Won the group. Reached the final. Region 84 has twelve Extra teams. Only one made it to a final this year… us.

Three games down the coast, nobody beat us. 7 goals scored, 4 allowed.
No bracket final was posted for the boys. Six tournament games in nine days, five wins and a draw.
League play returns: Long Beach‑Leland at home on the 12th, Lake Forest‑Brady on the 19th, then South Gate, Newport Beach and Huntington Beach through November. Every date lands in the schedule below as GameChanger confirms it.

Last spring the age group was split into two flights, so those records were not all built against the same opponents. Breakers played their season in the other flight.

Alga Norte #3 • Sunday 5:50 PMJaxon Millat scored in the first half. Mateo Navarro added the second after the break. Pateadores came into the final with 15 goals in three games and did not score.
The weekend in four numbers
Six different players scored this weekend, more than half the lineup. Counting Declan's assist, seven of the eleven boys are on the scoresheet.
Minutes spent trailing. Across all four games, the Strikers were never behind.

Pateadores scored 15 goals in three games, the most in the tournament. In the final, they scored zero.
The road to the title
Group stage sweepThe Strikers scored just before halftime and added three more in the second half. A 4‑0 shutout.
The Strikers led 2‑0 at halftime. Surf scored twice in the second half, but the Strikers got a third and won 3‑2.
All four goals came in the first half. Ethan scored twice, Jaxon scored again, and Grayson scored off an assist from Declan. The win clinched the top seed.

Pateadores SC SOC is the measuring stick: a ranked club side, 434th in California, and the team the boys beat 2‑0 in the Carlsbad Cup final. The rating already points our way. A few more club tournaments and the rank arrives on its own. Battle at the Beach and the Surf Classic are both on the books now.
How we got here
Season formTwenty‑four games since April 1, and one loss, in a tournament final by a single goal. The latest stretch: seven straight without a loss across Battle at the Beach and the Surf Classic.
Tustin won our flight without losing a game all spring. In March they beat us 3‑0. In May we drew them 2‑2. Same opponent. Different Strikers.
